The whole of southern Germany has been in the doldrums for days. Not even a large thunderstorm front from the west brought the hoped-for fresh wind. My kites have been modernising in their bags, my brain has been doing the same in my skull. Nothing is moving. It’s time to go travelling again.

Germany has changed. Sido now raps with censorship bleeps and RTL reporters do black bar reports on nudist beaches. Folk music zombies introduce their moderation with trendy tandem parachute jumps and hotel testers get upset about “unacceptable conditions” in the form of dust. All really important.

But some things never change. Israel is currently rehearsing possible attack scenarios on Iran’s nuclear facilities on TV. Iran is not allowed to have nuclear facilities. Well, it was a bit stupid of Ahmadinezad to threaten Israel with annihilation and then immediately expand its own nuclear programme – exclusively for peaceful use, of course. But the Arabs have to be forgiven for such subtle strategic mistakes. The sun is high and burning hot on their brains.

For years, I have only ever had one question in such disputes, and nobody asks it, and I wonder why. The question is: who gets to have the nuclear bomb? Does it depend on how big you think your balls are? Well, if you shout “I’ll bomb you to death!”, then you’re not allowed to have one. If, on the other hand, you say “Porcupines need spines.” is everything okay?

Who can please explain to me who is allowed to have a nuclear bomb? Does it depend on IQ, height, skin colour or religion? I don’t accept the argument about political stability. Israel has quietly tolerated at least 75 nuclear bombs for decades. For years, one government and mindset has been chasing the other.

So: Who is allowed to have the nuclear bomb? With a request for answers.
