The best wind on Boracay was often under clouds – or in the pouring rain. We are waterproof. But kiting in the sun is still hotter. On our last day on Boracay, the sun shines again – and the wind blows constantly at a crisp 18 to 25 knots. When I make my way to the Bulabog at eleven o’clock, Max has already been out on his seven-seater for some time.

Four days of full throttle kiting in a row was a lot. 20 blisters on his hands. Stiff neck from all the waves at high speed. His arms are long from all the jumping and he has tendinitis in his right wrist. I sit down, have breakfast and enjoy the spectacle on the water. Some of the kiters are doing some really big jumps today, kiteloop double backflips with a grab at a height of 10 metres.

I only go out for a good two hours with the nine. A bit too little wind for my weight – but definitely far too much for the thirteen. The water is quite shallow again today. Good spray, high jumps and heating up to the limit. The best wind in three weeks on Boracay. That’s all I can write today. Arms heavy.
